Our region has long enjoyed a worldwide reputation for its natural beauty, top-flight facilities, and unsurpassed commitment to culture and the arts.
After hosting a successful Modern Pentathlon World Cup Final in 2014, Sarasota and Bradenton are honored to continue this partnership as the hosts of several more events on the Modern Pentathlon World Cup Calendar: The 2015 Modern Pentathlon World Cup #1, The 2016 World Cup Final, and the 2016 US Olympic Trials.
These world-class competitions offer our region the opportunity to see the world's most complete athletes in person, along with the chance to interact with a wide array of international leaders and dignitaries. Most important, with upwards of 20,000 spectators, these games will enable us to showcase Sarasota Bradenton to a global audience, establishing our reputation as a preferred destination for additional international sporting and cultural events, while being an excellent economic development tool.
This year's Modern Pentathlon World Cup #1 offers a sensational, multicultural experience for viewers. With a brilliant blend of arts, education, and athleticism, this core Olympic level competition paired with an arts and culture celebration not only highlights the offerings of the Sarasota-Manatee area, but also ensures that there is something for everyone. Venues include Nathan Benderson Park, Selby Aquatic Center, and John and Mable Ringling Museum.
The 2015 Modern Pentathlon World Cup #1 belongs to the citizens of Sarasota and Manatee Counties. As part of our Community Outreach initiative, the Modern Pentathlon is providing thousands of free tickets to any area nonprofit or charitable organization.
